WOLLATON HALL, an extraordinary place whose real name is ‘Olafston,’ came into the hands of the Willoughby family during the first half of the fourteenth century, while Edward Ill. was on the throne. The Willoughbys were the descendants of one Ralph Bugge, a wealthy merchant in Nottingham who, having made a fortune, retired to Willoughby-on-the-Wolds early in the thirteenth century and whose family, changing their name to that of Willoughby, have left their mark on Willoughby Church by the wonderful series of monuments which still remain in their mortuary chapel.
It is said that Wollaton must have been an extremely uncomfortable house in which to live, and a heartbreaking house from a servant’s point of view, for all was sacrificed to outside appearances. By day, Wollaton Hall is the first choice for picnics, walks and bird spotting.
The Wollaton Museum was also filmed in a Batman Movie- Dark Knight Arises - as Batman’s estate.
Bruce Wayne’s Manor: A number of scenes from Batman: Dark Knight Rises (2012) were filmed in the grounds and Hall, including a garden party scene at night which features in the film’s trailer (See Figure 2) A graveyard was also constructed in the grounds for the filming, and a number of internal refurbishments were made to the Hall to create the perfect Wayne Manor.

The ideation cards were very useful in refining this core idea in respect to the area of mixed reality. On the other hand, it helped me evaluate the limitations and challenges that come with my idea.
Through the Passive Tracking Opportunity card, this helped me think of the idea to make use of GPS to track the players who are in that specific location of the movie scene. My initial idea is to automatically give the players a movie scene video when they step into the location of the movie scene through GPS. However, this idea is questioned by the Experience Flow card . There wouldn’t be an actual journey or goal if the players just step into something randomly, and they are given a video. Therefore, I looked into the other opportunity cards to see how I can gamify it. Scavenger Hunt Card seemed like a good way to answer my questions on gameplay. I could have the players find clues to where the location of the movie scenes are. This would solidify the experience flow which is to find the clues for the location of the movie scene and go to that location to receive the video. In thinking of what technology to use to set the clues, I chose the Manual Interaction card, so the players can scan QR codes to get the clues. I was originally thinking of scene recognition for identifying the location and triggering the movie scene that serves as the rewards for the game but I opted for AR pointers after reading the AR Reality Markers card.
